Former EMPEROR Drummer To Issue Press Statement Following Release From Prison
September 16, 2002Former EMPEROR drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun, who is due to be freed in December after spending nine years and four months in prison for murdering a homosexual man, will release a press statement upon his release, "a text dealing with memories, visions and general thoughts concerning the past, present and future," according to his official web site. "This is a text written behind bars, by a person soon to be released after nearly 10 years of imprisonment. Faust wishes that these words will forever remove the doubts that people have towards his sincere musical interest, in opposition to his criminal past. It's clear that Faust will be involved in various musical projects and this is what he wants to be judged on the background on — musical skills and interests, rather than a fucked-up past."
